Limitless Lab is open: 20 free things to poke
Have you ever had a list of “little things I’d love to build” that just keeps getting longer? Mine was HUGE. Tiny games, physics toys, that one tool I keep googling for. So I stopped adding to the list and built a place to put them all. Say hi to Limitless Lab!
It’s 20 free things that run right in your browser. No installs, no accounts, no ads. And it works on your phone (honestly, that’s where I test it first).
Three wings
- 🎮 Arcade: small games. Timeless Mini (yes, a tiny Timeless!), Orbit Sling, Daily Grid, Slime Dash, Gravity Golf and Brick Breaker+.
- 🔬 Lab: science and maths you can poke. A neural network learning live, Fourier drawings, chaos pendulums, flocking birds, gravity, waves and an endless fractal zoom.
- 🧰 Workshop: free tools for makers. Shrink images, make game sound effects, build colour palettes, slice sprite sheets, make app icons and QR codes.
Private on purpose
This was a big one for me. Nothing you do ever leaves your device.
- The tools never upload your files. Your images get squished right there in your browser.
- Saves stay on your device, and you can export, import or delete them whenever you want.
- The pages can’t load stuff from other sites. The only exception is a cookie-free visit counter, so I know if anyone shows up!
Why I built it
Have you ever read about something cool, like how a neural network learns or why a double pendulum goes completely bonkers, and the explanation was just a wall of maths? Same. I learn by poking things. Drag it, break it, change one number and watch what happens. That’s when it finally clicks.
So that’s the whole point of Limitless Lab:
- Learn by playing. Every sim is something you can touch, not just read about. Fourier series, gradient descent, chaos, flocking, waves, gravity.
- Free, for everyone. No paywall, no sign-up, no “premium” version. If you’re curious, you’re in.
- Fun first. If it’s not fun to mess around with, nobody sticks around long enough to learn anything. (Including me.)
- Works anywhere. A school Chromebook, an old phone on the bus, whatever you’ve got.
You don’t need to understand the maths to start. Play first. The “ohhh, that’s why” comes on its own.
The games and tools come from the same place. The Arcade is little bite-sized games that each show off one neat idea (real gravity, real bounce angles), and the Workshop is the free tools I wish I’d had when I started making games.
What’s next
More items! On the list: Stack Tower, Snake Evolved, a Game of Life lab, a pathfinding visualiser, a regex tester and a pixel art scaler. I also want a way to install it like an app, so it works offline too.
Go poke something and tell me what breaks, or what you want next, on Discord!
